Class of '45
Scott Yoak and his P-51 Quick Silver, The Resurrected Veteran, return to Rochester this year and is bringing along his friend and ours, Jim Tobul, and his F-4U Corsair, Korean War Hero. Together they form the aerobatic "Class of '45" Airshow Team in "Honor of Those Who Served".

Both Jim Tobul and Scott Yoak are very well respected in their mounts and in their families’ histories. Both come from great families in the warbird community. Joe Tobul and Bill Yoak made huge marks in the warbird movement, and their passion continues today with their sons’ commitment to their legacy. Sadly both Joe and Bill are no longer with us. They left behind with their families the passion and desire to showcase two of the greatest fighters ever were made to defend our nation.

The Class of ‘45’s mission is to preserve and honor the service of American military men and women, both then and now. In flying these legendary machines, we remember their service, their contributions, and our obligation to never let their sacrifices be in vain. As the thunder of their engines fades into the distance, remember that freedom is not free and liberty is everyone’s responsibility to preserve. Thank you for your interest, and God Bless America.
Whiskey 7
The C-47 Dakota was the cargo aircraft which was the workhorse of the Army Air Corps during World War II. It was also affectionately known as the "Gooney Bird". It served in all theaters of the war and served in civilian capacity to help establish the U.S. airlines.

W7 is truly a WWII veteran. This aircraft originally served with the 12th Air Force in the Mediterranean Theater in 1943 and the 9th Air Force in England 1944-1945 as part of the 316th Troop Carrier Group. It was one of the lead aircraft of the first strike of the D-Day invasion on June 6th, 1944 over Ste. Mere Eglise, Normandy. It transported paratroopers for the 82nd Airborne Division as part of Operation NEPTUNE. Flak was very heavy during these missions but this C-47 managed to survive it all.
Redline Airshows
Featuring Ken Reider in precision individual and formation aerobatics. The Redline Team flies Vans RV-8 homebuilt aircraft. They are 2 seat, tandem aircraft. There are more than 8000 Van's series aircraft flying worldwide.
The RV-8 is an extremely versatile aircraft, capable of speeds up to 230 miles per hour and can land short as slow as 50 miles per hour enabling them to access almost any airport.
The Redline planes have a 200 hp engine, and are equipped with Hartzell Advanced Structural Composite propellers.
Adam Baker-Playful Airshows
Adam Baker Airshows is a unique airshow team. We are known for our colorful airplane scheme and matching personalities! Our 12 minute aerial performance is a combination of crisp competition style maneuvers and hard core gyroscopic tumbles.During his performance, Adam pulls more than 9.5 positive g-forces and pushes 5.5 negative g-forces without the need for a military style g suit!With Speeds of up to 270 miles per hour, Adam can penetrate 2600 ft of air going straight up, only to be topped by 80 mph flying backwards in the torque roll!There has never bean an aircraft that draws the eye like the Playful 330. We aim to captivate the audience both in the air on on the ground with our “playful” scheme and intense air performance.
Third Strike Wingwalking
Carol Pilon and Third Strike Wingwalking offer a variety of different acts but regardless of the one chosen, your audience will always be left smiling. The staples to any Third Strike act are a bright red biplane, a daring wingwalker, the best pilot skills available and mountains of billowing smoke. You will find a smile under every tumble.

Our acts include the original Third Strike wingwalking routine, our dual act featuring two stunt women traveling atop the bi-plane and our Vintage Stearman solo which depicts the USAF service of the aircraft. Historical, educational and entertaining.
Movie Memphis Belle B-17 G
Known universally now as “The Movie” Memphis Belle, due to her starring role in the 1989 film Memphis Belle, the aircraft was a frequent participant in the famed Geneseo air shows of the late 1980s and early 1990s when it was not uncommon to find six, seven or even eight WWII heavy bombers in formation over that hallowed grass field hewn from the corn fields of upstate New York. Geneseo hasn’t had a B-17 based on their field since B-17G Fuddy Duddy left following the lamented, mid-1990s schism of the original museum. Having Memphis Belle back in town is marvelous news for everyone who remembers those halcyon days.
Jim Tobul-Korean War Hero

The "Korean War Hero" F4U4 Corsair has a legendary history. She served two tours on two different carriers. She has the distinction of flying over 200 combat missions.
Squadron VF884 (Nose #416 in these photos)

June thru October 1951 Aboard the USS Boxer (CV21), VF884 Naval Reserve Squadron from Olathe, Kansas. This squadron was known as the "Bitter Birds" using the Kansas Jayhawk on their jacket patch.

While in Korea, The "Bitter Birds" flew 1,519 missions, dropping 750,000 lbs of bombs and firing 3,800 rockets, also 1,400,000 rounds of ammunition. The fighting did take its terrible toll. Eight pilots of VF884 were killed or listed as missing in action, including the squadron's skipper Lcdr. G.F. Carmichael USNR. Normal squadron compliment of pilots were approximately 22 to 24 pilots.

Squadron VF653
December thru May 1951 Aboard USS Valley Forge (CV45), VF653 Naval Reserve Squadron from Akron, Ohio. This squadron patch emblem consisted of a dragon holding a shield which had a golden triangle and a checkerboard stripe. The golden triangle signified the large percentage of Pittsburgh area pilots in the squadron. The checkerboard stripe signified the winning of the Cleveland National Air Races twice by their Skipper Lt. Cmdr. Cook Cleland. Cook won both races with Corsairs. Many other pilots of VF653 previously flew in World War II.

"Korean War Hero" was flown by at least five VF653 pilots in combat:

Six pilots of VF653 were killed or listed as missing in action during this combat tour. The greatest toll was taken by enemy radar guided anti-aircraft guns while repeatedly striking the same targets.

From approximately 1960 to 1970, the aircraft flew with the Honduran Air Force. In 1970 was sold to an American Airline pilot and brought to the USA.

Joe & Jim Tobul bought this airplane in 1981 and started a very long rebuilding project. Ten (10) years later "Korean War Hero" proudly flew again on December 8, 1991 fittingly over the Pittsburgh skies.

The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) T-45 Goshawk is a highly modified version of the British BAE Systems Hawk land-based training jet aircraft. Manufactured by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and British Aerospace (now BAE Systems), the T-45 is used by the United States Navy as an aircraft carrier-capable trainer.
Air Force Thunderbirds
The USAF Air Demonstration Squadron ("Thunderbirds") is the air demonstration squadron of the United States Air Force (USAF).[1] The Thunderbirds are assigned to the 57th Wing, and are based at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Created 66 years ago in 1953, the USAF Thunderbirds are the third-oldest formal flying aerobatic team (under the same name) in the world, after the United States Navy Blue Angels formed in 1946 and the French Air Force Patrouille de France formed in 1931.

The Thunderbirds Squadron tours the United States and much of the world, performing aerobatic formation and solo flying in specially marked aircraft. The squadron's name is taken from the legendary creature that appears in the mythologies of several indigenous North American cultures.

The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation, single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed for the United States Air Force (USAF). The result of the USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter program, the aircraft was designed primarily as an air superiority fighter, but also has ground attack, electronic warfare, and signal intelligence capabilities.[6] The prime contractor, Lockheed Martin, built most of the F-22's airframe and weapons systems and conducted final assembly, while Boeing provided the wings, aft fuselage, avionics integration, and training systems.

The Air Combat Command F-22 Demonstration Team at Langley Air Force Base performs precision aerial maneuvers to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the fifth-generation fighter aircraft. The team also teams up with Air Force Heritage flight exhibiting the professional qualities the Air Force develops in the people who fly, maintain and support these aircraft.

There are approximately 35,000 active skydivers in North America, and only 15% are women! The Misty Blues team is 100% women. The ladies on the team come from all across the US to demonstrate their amazing skydiving skills and act as rolemodels to inspire the younger generations. Quick Silver was the dream of Father and son team Bill and Scooter Yoak. Quick Silver was built from over 200 Mustang parts and projects. It stands now as a tribute to our veterans. Bill Yoak, an individual with a love and passion for this type aircraft did all of the metal work. The remanufactured parts are handmade.
